Yesterday,
Seng wanted to come to my estate for cycling, hence I suggested to go to East Coast to cycle instead. We agreed to meet at the
Bukit Batok bus interchange at 10am. This morning, my mum sent me and Sean to the
Bukit Batok bus interchange. We reached there at about 10am, by the time most people where there except for Jordan and SJ, but they reached there 5 minutes or so after Sean and my arrival. Then we took the
MRT to
Jurong East to meet up with
Kheeming, followed by taking the
MRT to
Bedok. When we reached there, some of them went to buy some fruits and then we took bus 197 to somewhere near Victoria School and walked to East Coast. As it was in the noon, it was extremely sunny. Anyway, before heading to the bike rental store, we went to Burger King for a drink. After that, we went to rent 8 bikes at the price of $7 per bike for the whole day! So happily, we rode our bikes. Sean asked if we wanted to cycle to
Bukit Batok for lunch and come back to return our bikes, of course we did not agree to it as it was way too far. Upon rejecting his suggestion, SJ told us to cycle to
Changi Village for lunch. All of them agreed, and as I had no idea how FAR
Changi Village was from East Coast, dumb-dumbly I followed them and cycled all the way to
Changi Village. The route to
Changi Village was long, super long, super-duper long. As all of you know, my physical fitness level is the very very low, therefore it was a great torture for me. Despite me being so slow, they were kind enough to wait for me. On the way there, we had to cross and cycle on roads. While I was turning my bike near the curb, the side of the wheels hit the curb and *
BIANG!*, I fell to the ground. I was lucky enough not to get hurt, but the unlucky thing was that the chain of the bike went out of its position.
Kheeming waited for me while I pull it back to its original position. Upon doing that, my hands turned black and greasy. Still, I continued cycling to catch up with them. After cycling for about 20minutes, we reached a spot where road blocks were placed, as a result, we had to cross to road to another side of the road to continue to cycle to our destination.
Seng,
Fi, Sean,
Hong Wei and SJ crossed the road first, followed by me. Knowing that it was a rocky road, I pulled the brakes so as to control the speed, once again, *
BIANG!* but this time, only my bike fell as I jumped out of my seat before it fell. As expected,
Kheeming and Jordan who were behind me laughed their hearts out. With great determination and the never-say-die spirit, I pulled my bike up and continued cycling. After another few minutes, we reached a spot where we had to bring our bikes down the tall steps before we could cycle. While I was trying to bring the bike down, accidentally I stepped onto a rusty nail. Thankfully it only scratched the side of my feet. So, we continued all the way to
Changi Village. The whole cycling thingy took 2.5 hours- 3 hours. We ordered food and lots of drinks at the hawker centre. After our meals I phoned my dad to fetch me back to East Coast as I was exhausted and because my dad was jogging at East Coast with his colleagues. My dad agreed. For a moment, I thought that I was saved! Sean told the rest to wait for my dad to arrive in case something happens and I have to go back by bike. Indeed something happened! The bike was unable to fit into my dad's car!
Ok, so I had to cycle all the way back to East Coast. On the way back to East Coast I had no choice but to cycle at a slow slow speed due to the fact that I had near zero strength left in my body. As I was slow, I became the last and after several minutes, all of them were no where in sight. At first I was afraid of getting lost, but after cycling for about 10 minutes, I saw them again! They were sitting down drinking water while waiting for me. TOUCHED! The same thing happened throughout the whole journey, several minutes and they were no where to be seen, and after awhile I'll see them stopping somewhere waiting for me. (So
paiseh have to make them wait for me) Before returning the bikes, we went to the jetty to enjoy the scenery. Later, we rode back to the bike rental store and I was the third to reach there! Actually its nothing surprising, the reason for me being the third was because I left the jetty 5 minutes in advance. After returning the bikes, I parted with them. Amazingly, it only took us 2 hours or less for us to cycle back. For me although I was exhausted, the bed at home motivated me to cycle faster back to East Coast. (We Cycled 4 hours+ for the whole day! Tiring!) Any idea how I look now? Like a ROASTED PIG! Got sunburned and I'm all red, especially my arms, neck and nose. Overall, although this was a torturing day and my whole body is aching and sunburned, I really enjoyed it.
