Unfair! Bias! Favouritism!
Argh! Got back the results for F&N Coursework today and I'm extremely unhappy with it! I only scored 53/100 for the coursework! Wth is xx xxxx doing! Its so unfair! People who usually listen in her class scored high marks as high as 7x marks and people who does not pay as much attention to her only scored 5x and below marks! Its F***ing bias! She should have showed some professionalism in marking our coursework! For goodness sake, this coursework is for our O levels and not some school exams or test but a national exam! When I asked her why did we score so badly for our coursework, she said that there's no quality in our work (those who scored 5x marks and below) and that instead of crying over spilled milk we should work harder and try and score 75/100 for our theory paper. 60% of our total marks comes from the coursework, how can we not worry about it! If 53/100 is the finalized result for my coursework, I will need to score (for theory paper) 83/100 for a B3, 95.5/100 for an A2 and 108/100(TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE) for an A1! I seriously doubt that having no quality in our coursework would be the cause of our pathetic marks. For the reason being we used the A1 sample which she gave us for our reference, used the notes which she gave us to help us for explaining stuffs (no plagiarism involved!) and she even helped us to check our work to help us improve it and tell us the mistakes which we made. We did as much as we can, improved it like she asked us to, corrected our mistakes, did referencing from the A1 sample and made good use of the notes she provided us. Yet most of the boys scored badly! Unless she's trying to tell us that she did not check our coursework thoroughly, admit that the notes are of no use, the A1 sample was a fake one and that there were more mistakes which she did not pointed out to us, I'm not going to be satisfied with the marks that I've received. There were even about 4 of my friends who failed the coursework, which I see no reason in why should they be failing! They tried their very best, giving all that they could. xx xxxx also helped them in pointing out their mistakes and they corrected it. I doubt that they were out of point, hence I don't think that they deserve a failing grade! Next thing which I am even more unhappy with was this question in the F&N paper which says: Name two
types of proteins. It clearly states name two
TYPES of proteins. The CORRECT answer should be HBV proteins and LBV proteins like the textbook states, yet she argued that it was animals and plants and said that we misinterpreted the question. Then shouldn't the question be: Name two sources of proteins or Name two types of living things?! Does being a teacher mean that he/she can change facts which are stated in the textbook or change answers which are correct to answers which he/she THINKS that its correct?! Although I know that this result which is given to us isn't the finalized result for our O levels, but since the teacher's given marks will too be sent to Cambridge, even if the coursework was meant to be an A1 piece of work, but since its given a F9 grade, when the person who is marking the coursework sees it, it will give him a bad impression about it and might end up grading the work B4 (lower then expected grade). I think that all teachers should show some professionalism in their work, especially when marking important exam papers.
